Mastering Metre is an in-depth poetry workshop designed to help poets understand and confidently use rhythm in their writing. Whether metre has always felt confusing or overly technical, this session breaks it down into something intuitive, practical, and creatively freeing.


Participants will explore how metre works in poetry, including stress patterns, line length, and musical flow. Through listening exercises, close reading, and guided writing practice, you’ll learn how poets use rhythm to control pace, mood, and emotional impact and how you can do the same in your own work.
