About the event
Discover how restraint, white space, and omission can transform your poetry.
Silence, Space & the Power of What’s Unsaid is an in-depth poetry workshop exploring how poets can create meaning through absence as much as language. This session focuses on the craft techniques that allow a poem to breathe. Using space, line breaks, pacing, and implication to deepen emotional impact.
Participants will examine how silence functions within poetry, learning when to hold back, when to cut, and how to trust the reader. Through close reading, guided discussion, and practical writing exercises, poets will develop a stronger sense of control and precision in their work.
This workshop is ideal for poets who feel their writing is overcrowded, overly explanatory, or emotionally heavy, as well as those interested in refining their style through subtlety and restraint. No prior experience is required, concepts are introduced accessibly and applied creatively.
